Five Predictions: Packers at Vikings – 2020 Week 1

A lot of unknown heading into a delayed Week 1, but that’s no reason to not make predictions!

Let’s jump right into the season with our five predictions for the game:

Rodgers plays small ball – I expect Rodgers to pick on young corners early in the year by whipping quick passes around faster than they can react. Take the quick hits all day, just like that 2010 film showed.

Davante Adams feasts – Maybe it’s too obvious, but the Vikings corner group might be the least experienced in the league. In Week 1 following a truncated offseason, the nastiest release is football should be productive.

AJ Dillon gets more work than Jamaal Williams – I expect the power run game to figure heavily into attacking a wicked (though wounded) Vikings pass rush.

Za’Darius Smith goes King Kong – He absolutely dominated the last time he went to he bird-killing eyesore known as US Bank stadium and there’s no reason to think he won’t do it again against a shuffled line getting their first live action together.

Josiah Deguara unleashed – I don’t know what it’s going to look like, but I expect to see him a lot, whether it’s blocking or receiving. The Packers reached in the draft to make sure they got him and I think LaFleur wants to show off his new toy. I think he might be one of the biggest reasons the Packers didn’t want any reporting on what the personnel groupings were.

Final score: Packers 27, Vikings 23
