What We Learned: Packers vs Eagles – 2019 Week 4

What a gut punch. Let’s make this quick.

Jimmy, Jimmy, Jimmy
I know they got him more involved and he did some nice things, but Jimmy Graham had three passes from the 1 yard line and came down with zero of them. It’s the whole reason he’s here. Just cut him.

Aaron Rodgers is Back
He was moving, he was running, he was passing, he was looking like an MVP. I know the Eagles had a banged up secondary, but it was like we saw the first glimpse of what LaFleur’s offense can be. I’m optimistic on the rest of the season.

The Run D Is Garbage
I wrote about this in the preview the last two weeks. They set a solid edge with the Smiths, but they aren’t getting run stops on the inside. And when I say not getting stops, I mean getting eaten up and embarrassed like having 3 guys averaging 6 yards a carry. The guys are who they are, Pettine needs to adjust his scheme.

Injuries Hurt
Losing Davante Adams and Bryan Bulaga was huge. Adams was on pace to set a franchise record and when Bulaga went down, Alex Light was not good. Role players like Montravious Adams and Jamal Williams were sorely missed, too. With Montravious Adams, the defensive line is not as strong, especially against the run. With Williams out, the run game only had Jones, who (despite what many fans want to believe) is a complementary back and not a bell cow.

On to Dallas
The Packers end a very tough September slate at 3-1 and 2-0 in the division. Let’s get healthy and hit Dallas hard.
