An Open Letter To Packers Players

Dear Packers players – representatives of the greatest team in the history of sports,

We love you guys.

We love you as players and we love you as people.

We know you’re more than just football players – you’re people with personal lives, families, and hobbies.

We love what you do in our communities, we love what you do to support charities and bring awareness to causes.

Most of all, we love watching you play.

But we know that you’re more than just football players – we know that you’re human.

We know that there is a human side to this game and a business side to this game that doesn’t show up on the box score.

It’s ok if you don’t always agree with upper management.

It’s ok if you want to exercise you rights to make a point.

But…

Well, we’re just fans – we’re not gonna tell you how to act and you don’t owe us anything, but I feel like this needs to be said.

We love interacting with you on social media. We love how accessible you are and how you share your life with us.

But this week’s cryptic posts have made it hard on fans.

They’re confusing and just add stress to a situation we can only speculate on.

No GM or CEO is going to change their stance on anything based on what you put on social media.

No fan knows what to make of them.

So it ends up just feeling like you’re toying with the fans that love you.

If you have something that you want to say, by all means come out and say it – we’ll listen.

And if you don’t want to say anything publicly – if you want to keep business all in-house, that’s cool, too.

But all cryptic public messages do is make things hard on fans.

I hope you guys all work out anything that might be bothering you. If you want to talk about it, by all means reach out to me and I’ll talk to you about it.

But, please, stop the cryptic messages with no context. You’re making it hard on the fans and we aren’t the ones putting you in a situation that you don’t like.

We love you, we watch you, we cheer for you, we buy your jerseys and support your causes.

We all hope things work out for you.

Thanks for all you do.

Respectfully,

-Bruce
