Day 2 & 3 Preview – Defense

Defensive Line
I always want more big guys, but I wish there were more this year that I really like.  Looking back, I think I slotted them a little low, but I just judge would I be happy with that pick a round higher?  The answer is no.
3rd – Chris Wormley, Michigan
3rd – Larry Ogunjobi, Charlotte
3rd – Dalvin Tomlinson, Alabama
3rd – Montravius Adams, Auburn
4th – Vincent Taylor, Oklahoma St
4th – Carlos Watkins, Clemson
5th – Jarron Jones, Notre Dame
5th – Deatrich Wise, Arkansas
6th – Eddie Vanderdoes, UCLA
7th – Jeremiah Ledbetter, Arkansas

EDGE Rusher
I think there are many rushers that can go between the end of the first and the middle of the second, I would really like to get one of ’em.
2nd – Takkarist McKinley, UCLA
2nd – Jordan Willis, Kansas State
2nd – Derek Rivers, Youngstown State
2nd – T.J. Watt, Wisconsin
2nd – Zach Cunningham, Vanderbilt
2nd – Tyus Bowser, Houston
2nd – Carl Lawson, Auburn
4th – Ryan Anderson, Alabama
5th – Trey Hendrickson, Florida Atlantic
6th – Vince Biegel, Wisconsin
6th – Garrett Sickels, Penn St
UDFA – Elijah Lee, Kansas St
UDFA – Keion Adams, Western Michigan

Inside Linebacker
As hot as the Packers fans were for an ILB the last few years, I find it a little surprising to be so silent right now.  I LOVE watching Ben Boulware.  He’s probably too slow for the NFL, but I still want him on the team.  He can contribute on special teams, and will be a good locker room/practice presence.
3rd – Raekwon McMillian, Ohio State
6th – Jalen Reeves-Maybin, Tennessee
6th – Ben Boulware, Clemson
7th – Blair Brown, Ohio
UDFA – Ben Gedeon, Michigan
UDFA – Calvin Munson, San Diego St

Cornerback
Like EDGE, I see a lot of guys that rank between end of the first and middle of the second.  I REALLY want a corner in this draft, maybe 2.
2nd – Sidney Jones, Washington
2nd – Gareon Conley, Ohio State
2nd – Fabian Moreau, UCLA
2nd – Chidobe Awuze, Colorado
2nd – Quincy Wilson, Florida
3rd – Jordan Lewis, Michigan
4th – Howard Wilson, Houston
4th – Shaquill Griffin, UCF
5th – Rasul Douglas, West Virginia
6th – Brendan Langley, Lamar
7th – Jack Tocho, NC State

Free Safety
I hope HaHa is the starter for years, but getting a backup makes sense.  Plus, a lot of these guys will play special teams.  I LOVE Budda Baker as a football player, but I’m not sure how high the Packers will be on him based on his height.
2nd – Budda Baker, Washington
3rd – Marcus Maye, Florida
4th – Desmond King, Iowa
6th – Delano Hill, Michigan
7th – Chuck Clark, Virginia Tech

Strong Safety
I almost see strong safety as a need.  Burnett is good, but he’s in his last year of his 4 year contract.  On top of that, they have been using him in the hybrid LB role, and having more talent to take his safety spot would be great.  I’m not in love with this SS class, but maybe Brice gives them time for next years draft.
2nd – Josh Jones, NC State
5th – Xavier Woods, Louisiana Tech
6th – Jadar Johnson, Clemson
7th – Tedric Thompson, Colorado
UDFA – Montae Nicholson, Michigan State
