Day 2 & 3 Preview – Offense

Quarterback
The Packers already have the trio of: Elite Starter, Solid Backup, and Young developmental guy. I can’t imagine they will put much focus on this position. But you should always look to keep the talent pipeline flowing. These are guys that I have some interest in if they last to these rounds:
4th – Nathan Peterman, Pittsburgh
5th – Brad Kayaa, Miami
6th – Josh Dobbs, Tennessee
UDFA – Sefo Liafu, Colorado

Running Back
With the depth of running back this year, I strongly feel they need to get one.  To that end, I’ve given them a guy in every round. I would love the Packers to get either of the Oklahoma guys. I also really like the potential value and fit of Joe Williams.
2nd – Joe Mixon, Oklahoma
3rd – Samaje Perine, Oklahoma
3rd – Kareem Hunt, Toledo
4th – Jeremy McNichols, Boise St.
4th – D’onta Foreman, Texas
5th – Brian Hill, Wyoming
6th – Jamaal Williams, BYU
6th – Joe Williams, Utah
7th – De’Veon Smith, Michigan
7th – Aaron Jones, Texas-El Paso

Wide Receiver
While this position isn’t as deep as some of the others, there should still be some pretty good value. The Packers will have a need at this position next year, and getting one this year gives them time to get him ready.  I put a few more in the later rounds in hopes they pull the trigger.
Each year I pick a value receiver that I really like.  It was a hard choice this year, but I narrowed it to 3: Chris Godwin, Chad Hansen, and Taywan Taylor. If I had to pick one, I think it will be Hansen in the 3rd.
2nd – Zay Jones, East Carolina
3rd – Chris Godwin, Penn St
3rd – Chad Hansen, California
3rd – Taywan Taylor, Western Kentucky
4th – JuJu Smith-Schuster, Southern California
5th – Malachi Dupre, LSU
5th – Isaiah Ford, Virginia Tech
6th – Josh Malone, Tennessee
6th – Emba Etta-Tawo, Syracuse
7th – Jehu Chesson, Michigan

Tight End
I don’t remember a class this deep.  Even though the Packers picked up 2(!) free agents at a position they kept a guy they’ve started, I STILL think they should get another one. So much talent, it’s a good move to get a young talented guy. One top of that, there are a lot of pass catchers that are almost a receiver. I spread them out for each round:
2nd – Evan Engram, Ole Miss
3rd – Gerald Everett, South Alabama
3rd – Bucky Hodges, Virginia Tech
4th – Jake Butt, Michigan
5th – Jordan Leggett, Clemson
6th – Jonnu Smith, Florida Intl
7th – George Kittle, Iowa
UDFA – Michael Roberts, Toledo

Offensive Tackle

With talent at so many other positions, I guess some position was going to suffer.  This seems like a really weak class.  Some of these picks are lower than where they will go, but I rated them at the point of where I’d be happy with the pick.
2nd – Garrett Bolles, Utah
3rd – Taylor Moton, Western Michigan
5th – Adam Bisnowaty, Pittsburgh
5th – Will Holden, Vanderbilt
6th – Erik Magnuson, Michigan
7th – Sam Tevi, Utah

Offensive Guard / Center
I love drafting big guys, but let’s face it, interior guys don’t have the same value. That being said, I have a draft crush on Pat Elflein.
2nd – Dan Feeney, Indiana
2nd – Pat Elflein, Ohio State
3rd – Dion Dawkins, Temple
3rd – Dorian Johnson, Pittsburgh
4th – Isaac Asiata, Utah
5th – Nico Siragusa, San Diego St
