More On Jaire Alexander

Ok, a lot to unpack with Jaire Alexander.
Let’s start with this (NUMBER 1)
My take on it is this: Jaire is a perfect corner EXCEPT HEIGHT. Which is quite important.
– He’s fast
– He covers well
– He has ball skills
– He hits
– He tackles
– He has the needed corner mentality
Some of the guys I follow had him as a #5 overall player. Many had him as the #1 corner. The big problem is being 5’10”.
Many people comp him to Chris Harris Jr. and that would be GREAT.
Here’s PFF’s take:
Alexander saw the field for only 314 snaps this season for Louisville, but when he did, he was lights out. He was targeted every 7.8 snaps he spent in coverage and allowed just 0.29 yards per his 148 coverage snaps, the second-lowest mark among all draft-eligible cornerbacks. On the season, he made more plays on the ball than he allowed passes to be caught, allowing just five receptions while intercepting a pass and recording five pass breakups. Alexander’s 17.7 passer rating when targeted was nearly 10.0 points clear of No. 2 among draft-eligible cornerback and just 0.1 away from the national low among all cornerbacks this season.
The Packers now have a tall corner with King, and feisty guy with Alexander.
If this was the guy they wanted the whole time, they basically turned this year’s 3rd into a 1st for next year.
